Oasis) to accompany John Lewis' Christmas advert and Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole) that were widely appreciated. Her name was also recognized via a blog post from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed her song Runaway. It was her birthday. Aurora Aksnes earliest musical memory was of discovering a piano in her attic and being fascinated by the music it could make. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes encouraged her to learn music not to get work or for a passion, but as an opportunity to develop. She began writing songs of her own. Alongside Bjork, she cites Leonard Cohen as an influence. She began performing the songs she wrote publicly after her mother suggested that they can help other people, not to gain fame with her music, but rather to help those around them see the importance of their work and how they impact the world. When she began playing the piano, she was just six and was writing her first song at the age of nine. The family members didn't know about her musical journey until she was 14. The dream was never to become Aurora. The singer claims she is a fan of creating music. To her music, it is the most effective means of communicating anything.
